On the top edge of the rear view mirror is a display that indicates the point of the compass that the front of the car is pointing in. Eight different directions are shown with their English abbreviations. N (North) NE (North-east) E (East) SE (South-east) S (South) SW (South-west) W (West) NW (North-west) The earth is divided into 17 magnetic zones and the compass is set for the geographical position where the car is located on delivery. During long journeys, when one of more zones can be passed, the compass should be calibrated, i.e. setting the point of the compass.
